Tami Heflin
Tami is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor for Counselor Interns in Louisiana. Her academic background is in psychology with an emphasis in school psychology and psychological testing. With over twenty years professional experience working with children and adolescents, she has counseled children and teens faced with anxiety, depression, and adjustments or transition, such as divorce, separation, or grief. She has served as the facilitator for social skills groups for children who have attention deficits, low self-esteem, and anger control issues and worked as a school based counselor as well as provided in home counseling to youth and families. Tami has served as the Clinical Director for Positive Forces for seven years and has been employed with this agency since its inception in 1995. In the private setting she works with children ages 3-18. She is also a Registered Play Therapist through the National Association for Play Therapy. She is trained in EMDR and also provides treatment for children who have experienced various levels of trauma.
Sara Thompson
Sara is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. Her academic background is in education and counseling. Sara's experience as an educator with young children coupled with her counseling skills has created a niche in working with issues of ADHD, Anxiety, and Adjustment Disorders associated with life changes. Sara also has experience in treating children exposed to trauma, abuse and neglect. She provides Filial Therapy for parents and groups. She has been employed with Positive Forces for over five years.
Sherry Hulsey
Sherry has a master's degree in community counseling and is pursuing her license to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Sherry works with children, adolescents and adults. Sherry conducts groups for children and teens.
Jennifer Watson
Jennifer has a master's degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and works with children, adolescents and young adults. She has experience working with emotional health issues in general, as well as issues associated with addiction. She is pursuing her license to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Marrise Hodges
Marrise has a master's degree in Community Counseling and is pursuing his license to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults dealing with suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, and other emotional health issues. He also works with children and families who are in crisis and helps provide stabilization during these difficult times.
Jamie Norris
Jamie has a master's degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and is pursuing her license to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has experience working with children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral issues such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and anger. She also has experience working in crisis intervention.
